
SITUATION
Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is an educational institution offering two-year associate degrees, as well as technical degrees, diploma and certificate programs. In addition, MATC works with local businesses to provide employee skill enhancements and job training. School administration felt that an image problem was contributing to low enrollment numbers.
GOALS & OBJECTIVES
- Generate a significant increase in enrollment inquiries
- Position MATC as a community college that provides education and preparation for a wide range of career choices
- Communicate MATC’s benefits to both the general community and business community
IMPLEMENTATION
Boelter + Lincoln created a multi-media campaign to address image enhancement utilizing television, radio, newspaper, magazines, and outdoor. Additionally, B+L addressed increasing enrollment inquiries with a media campaign concentrated in the spring and fall enrollment periods utilizing television, radio, newspaper, and outdoor.
RESULTS
- 5% enrollment increase, leading to near-record student enrollment
- Heightened awareness among the general public, business leaders and governmental officials
